VENTURE INTO THE ARCTIC
A phenomenal 5 day Northern Lights cruise which begins in the vibrant town of Bergen. The ship then sails north past magnificent coastal scenery to Tromsø. During the voyage the ship will call at 20 ports, some of which you will have the opportunity to explore. The evenings of the cruise can be spent gazing into Norway’s sky for the mesmerising Northern Lights from the ship’s observation deck or panoramic lounge. At the end of the Northern Lights cruise you stay in a hotel in Tromsø overnight. With an extended itinerary you can join one of the following activities: reindeer sledging, an arctic city walk, a polar night with aurora gazing, dog sledging and an arctic gourmet dinner.
Day 1 -
Join your Northern Lights Cruise

Depart the UK on a flight to fly to Bergen, on arrival transfer to your ship. Your Northern Lights cruise has an informal atmosphere, with relaxed 5 star dinning. In the evenings you can observes the sky for the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) from a comfortable seat in the ships panoramic lounge, or outside on the observation deck. You can also request for a wake up call if the Northern Lights appear whilst you are asleep at ship’s reception.

Day 2 -
Art Nouveau - Ålesund

During your Northern Lights cruise you will have the opportunity to visit a wide variety of places which range from small fishing communities to modern towns. The highlight of today is the charming Art Nouveau town of Ålesund, which boasts spectacular architecture. For lunch we suggest sampling the regions speciality - smoked wild salmon, in one of the many cafés in the town.

Day 3 -
Trondheim - City of the Vikings

Today your Northern Lights cruise will arrive at the fascinating medieval city of Trondheim, which was the first capital of Norway. The unique city of the Vikings boasts a variety of sights, which can be seen on an optional tour to the Nidaros Cathedral, which is one of Europe’s most striking Gothic monuments.

Day 4 -
Explore the Lofoten Islands
|
During the early hours of the morning the cruise will cross the Arctic Circle, sailing to the captivating city of Bodø. During your time here you can enjoy sightseeing in the city centre, visit the world’s strongest maelstrom (whirlpool) or witness the whirling stream at Saltstraumen.
The next stop on the Northern Lights cruise is the breathtaking Lofoten Islands, which are inhabited by a variety of seabirds. Later the cruise calls at Svolvær, where you can visit the world’s first ice gallery “Magic Ice”, which uses music and ice sculptures to illustrate some of the islands’ legends.

Day 5 -
Arrive Tromso
|
The ship will arrive in Tromsø during the mid afternoon, disembark your Northern Lights cruise and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. During your time in Tromso you have the opportunity to take part in some optional excursions such as reindeer sledging, snowmobiling or dog sledging (weather dependant)

Depart Tromso

After breakfast at your hotel you will have time for sightseeing in Tromsø's main befor transferring to the airport for your return flight.
