The Northern Lights Festival cruise celebrates the return of the sun with an international musical event. Artists from all over the world perform a wide range of music, from symphonic to soul. The cruise begins in Bergen, where it departs on a leisurely journey to Tromsø. There are a range of optional excursions available during the cruise including a Viking feast, dog sledding and city tours. The Northern Lights Festival Cruise is only available once a year so we advise booking early to avoid missing out.
Day 1 -
Arrive in Norway

Depart the UK on a flight to Bergen airport, on arrival transfer to the Northern Lights Festival Cruise. The ship will then begin its voyage north, passing dramatic and craggy landscapes. In the evening wrap up and gather on the ship’s observation deck where you will have an excellent view of the Northern Lights if they appear. You can also look for the Northern Lights from the ships panoramic lounge.

Days 2 to 4 -
Sightseeing

As the cruise continues its voyage along the spectacular Norwegian coastline you will get the opportunity to explore a variety of hamlets and towns. Highlights over the next two days include the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund and the medieval city of Trondheim.

Days 5 to 6 -
The Northern Lights Festival

Your Northern Lights Festival cruise will arrive in Tromsø during the afternoon. Disembark the ship and transfer to your centrally located hotel, which you will be staying in for the next two nights. You can spend the next two days enjoying the local events which are held in various places including the Tromsø Concert Hall and the Arctic Cathedral. Hopefully the Northern Lights will illuminate the sky above the festivities in green, blue and pink. The mesmerising phenomena have been the inspiration to painters, poets, musicians, choreographers and dancers.

Return home

Check-out from the hotel and transfer to the airport for you return flight.
