Spectacular Northern Lights Tours
Arguably the perfect winter holiday, our tours split into three distinct types; expedition adventures, city breaks and cruises. City breaks mix traditional sight seeing with wilderness excursions to see the aurora. While not “tours” in the traditional sense, city breaks are often linked together with overland travel. Expedition adventures usually involve spending days exploring the Arctic tundra and at night you can see the aurora unhindered by the light pollution of a city. Cruises are the most popular form of Northern Lights tour, mixing the sightseeing and convenience of city breaks, the adventure and isolation of an expedition as well as unrivalled opportunities to see the breathtaking Scandinavian fjords.

Family Adventure Holidays
For the perfect family winter holiday we recommend a week long adventure stay in northern Finland. Stay in a hotel room or a private cabin and make the most of the resort’s 75 miles of cross country ski trails, 12 downhill slopes, snowboard street, half pipes and snow tube run. That is assuming you aren’t busy husky sledding, ice fishing, snowshoe trekking, relaxing in the sauna or taking a snowmobile out in the snow.
The snow tube run is ideal for families with children of all ages. Snow tubing involves travelling down a specially prepared slope inside a giant rubber doughnut. Snow tubing provides hours of fun without needing any experience or skill.
Tundra buggy northern lights tours
Churchill in north central Canada is the self proclaimed polar bear capital of the world. Every year as the ice on Hudson Bay freezes over the bears gather to venture out onto the sea ice and hunt, but once the bears are on the ice you don’t have to worry about them till the ice thaws in the summer.
Canada is ideal for Northern Lights tours because of it’s proximity to the Magnetic North Pole. Tundra Buggy tours combine daytime arctic activities like snowshoeing, dog sledding, and sightseeing with night time adventures in the wilderness. Buggy trips allow you to see the Northern Lights away from sources of artificial light. Once your eyes have adjusted to the darkness, looking at the aurora from the tundra is like looking at the stars from the desert; beautiful beyond expectation.

Adventure Holiday at the ICEHOTEL
Adventure stays at the world famous ICEHOTEL, Sweden, are one of the best ways to see the aurora; take several Northern Lights tours from a world class hotel.
Every year ICEHOTEL is built fresh with ice from the Torne River. A team of top designers converge on the arctic village of Jukkasjärvi in order to make this singular building. When you spend a night in a suite at ICEHOTEL you stay in a unique work of art which will never be remade. 200km north of the Arctic Circle, Jukkasjärvi, offers the perfect base for aurora spotting. You can lie in bed and look up through skylights built into the hotel’s heated chalets or stand outside with a steaming mug of lingonberry juice and gaze at the horizon.
Tromsø to Trondheim Northern Lights tour
Cruising from Tromsø, 217 miles inside the Arctic Circle, to Trondheim, the Viking Capital, is a leisurely way to combine aurora spotting with a city break. You won’t struggle to find things to do or see at either end of the cruise but the highlight of this short break is a two day period travelling along the Norwegian coast. Carved by glaciers during the last ice age the Scandinavian fjords are world famous for their rugged beauty and towering majesty.
