At Igloo Village on a Northern Lights holiday you will spend two nights in a charming timber cabin, which has its own garden space for you to enjoy. Equipped with a private sauna and fireplace, you can escape reality and really unwind in the evenings. You will also spend one night in an ultra-modern glass igloo that provides fantastic views of the starry sky from its spherical windows. Recline in bed as you wait for the elusive Northern Lights to appear.

Day 1 - Transfer to Hotel Kakslauttanen

Days 2 to 3 - Choice of Excursions
Begin your Arctic adventure with one of the inclusive activities below. Any free time you have can be enjoyed in the stunning countryside that surrounds the resort. Whether or not you are travelling with children, Santa’s Resort is a magical place to visit during your stay. You will move into a heated glass igloo on the third day of your holiday and spend a night under the twinkling starlit sky. The large, unobstructed windows offer fabulous views and should the Northern Lights materialise, you will be awestruck by their natural beauty. If you don’t see the Northern Lights from the glass igloo, there are excursions available that take you to vantage points where your chances of witnessing them are increased.
This safari starts out from the stunning fell area of Saariselkä where you will collect the required clothing and equipment. You will be taught how to drive the snowmobile and will be given safety training before taking to the tracks. It is essential that all drivers of the snowmobiles possess a valid driving licence. For the next four hours you will zoom over fells and in between shimmering trees on this exhilarating journey. Break for lunch around a fire before continuing the safari and returning to Igloo Village for the Northern Lights in the evening.
The husky is the native dog of Finland and is relied heavily upon in these Arctic regions. On this tour you will visit a husky farm and get to meet these incredible animals before they whisk you off on a winter adventure. Change into the suitable clothing provided and learn how to manage the dogs and the sledge. You will soon begin your four-hour safari through the enigmatic scenery, resting for a campfire lunch en route.
Reindeer Sleigh Ride
This safari is more about relaxation than thrill-seeking and the comfortable pace really gives you chance to soak up the strikingly beautiful countryside. As there are no instructions needed, get yourself comfortable in the sleigh and let the reindeer do the legwork. You will gain an insight into the lives of the native Sámi communities and learn about their fascinating traditions when we take time-out at a reindeer herder’s hut for lunch. Day 4 - Depart Kakslauttanen
